With this site building quick guide, you will learn the basics of creating and personalizing a blogsite using the service’s default theme, Blogs Helsinki 2026.
The guide consists of following four independent sections.
Please click the title of any section to open its specific guide page.
Block Editor basics
This guide explains what blocks are and how you can use the block editor to create and edit content on your site. It also includes examples and demonstrations of a few commonly used blocks.
Cover and Background images
In new sites using this theme, the cover image is blank by default, while the background image displays the theme’s default picture. This guide teaches you how to add your own cover and background images to personalize the appearance of your site.
Navigation Menu
In this theme, the navigation menu automatically lists your pages (but not posts) alphabetically in the top menu. If you want to add other types of content—such as posts—or create a functional dropdown menu, this tutorial explains how to do so.
Templates
This theme includes templates for both Page and Post content types, designed for different kinds of content and use cases. This guide describes the available templates and their features, shows how to modify the content within these templates, and explains how to reset patterns if needed.
